Come and celebrate Calgary's rich aboriginal traditions and cultures during this fun, free, pre-stampede family event! All ages are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Families are entitled to support and treatment for themselves and their adopted child from birth to age 19 years. Support includes involvement in engaging and reparative activities that promote attachment, build trust, and provide encouragement for promoting a positive relationship.
The Eagles Back Aboriginal Youth Program
The Eagle's Back program is designed to help children 6-12 learn about Aboriginal culture through traditional teachings, access to dance and drumming.
Bowness Montgomery Early Literacy Initiative works with community partners and residents to help provide a foundation for young children's learning. The individuals working with young children are supported in their personal and professional development through scholarships, networks, mentoring and workshops.
Sometimes a family crisis makes it impossible for parents to take care of their children in their own home without outside help. When no other family or community resources exist, certified child care workers provide subsidized, day-time child care on a short term basis for families in need.
Empowerment Seminars for Pregnant Women and New Parents
"Bundled and Ready" is designed to help participants learn tools to empower themselves and their child, including an understanding of infant brain development.
In Sync is a play-based program that enhances the parent-child relationship in the critically important area of attachment during the child's important first few years of life.
The Parent Link Centre offers programs and support for parents and caregivers of young children through drop in programs, children's play groups, information and workshops for parents about children's development and growth, book and story times, family activities and referrals to family resources in the community.
Prime Time is an early intervention program run through the Inner City Community Resource Centre. Families with at least one child aged 1 to 2 years are provided a "Family Coach" who goes into the home to provide mentoring, coaching and connect the family to other community resources.
